HOW TO BEND DESIGN FAQ

Bend Design is three days of keynote talks, workshops, exhibits, and more, designed to energize all of us to improve the quality of life in our communities through creative thinking and action. This year’s topics touch on themes of how design thinking can address larger societal problems and ultimately shape our future.

Bend Design is not only for designers, but also for architects, scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, trades professionals, educators, students, researchers, executives, musicians, writers, civic leaders, city planners, activists and citizens.

Day 1: OCTOBER 25 / Talk Blocks. Creative hot shots will share their work and wisdom at Tower Theatre. At breaks, pursue ideas, conversations, and refreshments at Liberty Theater next door.

Day 2: OCTOBER 26 / Workshop Day. Dive deeper during interactive workshops, hosted conversations, un-hosted meet-ups, collaborative projects, intimate panels, and more, at multiple venues around beautiful Bend, Oregon.

Day 3: OCTOBER 27 / Bend Design For Good Day. Bend Design For Good will unite design thinkers with organizations confronting the most pressing challenges in our region.

You’ll leave Bend Design armed with new perspectives from innovative optimists tackling complex problems with creative solutions. New connections with like-minded, like-inspired creative thinkers and potential co-collaborators. You’ll have new energy to pursue creative solutions to the world’s most urgent problems, and the everyday.You’ll also get a pretty red journal.

  • You do not sin up for Thursday Talks as they are included in your Pass yet YOU DO NEED TO SIGN UP for Workshops.
  • There are over 20 available workshops, including: interactive workshops, lectures, and films.
  • There are four time slots: (8:30 – 10:00, 10:30 to noon, 1:30 to 3:00, and 3:30 to 5:00)
  • Please select one from from each time slot, if interested.

 

  • Log into your Bend Design account (the one you created when you bought your Pass)
  • Go to Menu
  • Click on My Tickets
  • Click on the Gear to the right of the Barcode, click Cancel Ticket
  • Cancel Ticket
  • Now you can register for another Workshop. To do so, go to Menu, click Schedule, and make your new selection
  • Note: you must cancel one Workshop before reserving another Workshop in the same timeframe
  • Log into your Bend Design account (the one you created when you bought your Pass)
  • Go to Menu
  • Click Schedule
  • Make your selections

Bend Design takes place in Bend, Oregon, a small town with big ideas. With its sunshine, wilderness, and frontier mentality, Bend attracts diverse creative talent, fostering a culture of inspired possibility.

Registration takes place at At Liberty Arts Collaborative (just two doors down from the Tower Theatre) located at 849 NW Wall Street. Thursday Talks take place at the Tower Theatre and Workshops take place at various locations in beautiful downtown Bend.

Bend has many lodging options available from luxury resorts and lodges to boutique hotels and vacation homes. Our lodging partners are Oxford Hotel and DoubleTree by Hilton. Visit benddesign.org/visit for lodging deals.

We have great coffee houses, taco shops, fine dining, food carts and bars all over town. Some of our favorites are BellaTazza Coffee, Barrio, Joolz900 Wall, Jackson’s Corner, Zydeco, Velvet, Mother’s Juice Cafe, Crow’s Feet, Looney Bean, and Stihl Whiskey Bar … yes, we like to eat and drink.

  • Click on My Passes. A list of all your Passes will show up.
  • Click on the Gear to the right of the Barcode, click Transfer Pass.
  • Complete the form with the email address of the person you want to transfer the pass to.
